Password policies

This is a list of the effective password policies for the user groups defined in this wiki.

GroupPolicies
administrator
(list of members)
  • Password must be at least 1 character long (MinimalPasswordLength)
  • Password cannot be the same as username (PasswordCannotMatchUsername)
  • Password cannot match specifically blacklisted passwords (PasswordCannotMatchBlacklist)
  • Password must be less than 4,096 characters long (MaximalPasswordLength)
Autoconfirmed users
  • Password must be at least 1 character long (MinimalPasswordLength)
  • Password cannot be the same as username (PasswordCannotMatchUsername)
  • Password cannot match specifically blacklisted passwords (PasswordCannotMatchBlacklist)
  • Password must be less than 4,096 characters long (MaximalPasswordLength)
Bots

  • Password must be at least 8 characters long (MinimalPasswordLength)
  • Password cannot be the same as username (PasswordCannotMatchUsername)
