2nd Skill Activation: Balancing (Revised)

  • We have added Card Type & Game Type as well as Element Type & Game Type specific scalar values to further increase our ability to balance out cards for PVP and PVE modes.

Scaling Math

The 2nd Skill % will be changed based on the 6 factors listed:

  • Game Mode type

  • Element type
  • Card Type & PVP/PVE Type

  • Flat rate bonuses from bonus cards (SS'E', Premium Event).

Formula

The calculation for what your 2nd Skill % would be for a certain mode would be as follows:

  • ((Game Mode & Element Specific Rate x Game Mode Rate x Card Type Specific Rate x Game Mode Rate x Card Type Rate x Element Type Rate) x Card's 2nd Skill %) + Flat Rate Bonus

Example

For example, if you were playing Teamplay Mode with a Fire Axe that is 40% (which prior to this patch was 26%) 2nd Skill % and a Fire SS'E':

  • Tournament Mode Multiplier: 0.63x (0.66x is our baseline since all card 2nd Skill %'s will have been increased by 1.5x)
  • General Card Type (Axe) Multiplier: 1.0x
  • General Element Type (Fire) Multiplier: 1.05
  • Game Mode & Card Type (PVP Mode, Axe) Multiplier: 1.12
  • Game Mode & Element Type (PVP Mode, Fire) Multiplier: 1.03
  • SS'E' Flat Rate Bonus: +2%

Patch v311.1

Status

This patch is live.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed bug where 2nd Skill scalar/balancing would apply twice, thus abnormally bringing down the value of a card's 2nd skill percentage.
  • Fixed bug where information for Element preference was not shown.
  • Fixed bug where players were unable to add their cards with 30% 2nd skill activation on the User Shop. This has been changed to 54%.
  • Fixed bug where elements returned from User Shop would indicate the incorrect element type.
  • Fixed bug where trading was limited for 2nd Skill % and was using pre-patch levels.
  • Fixed bug where ARCC would crash the game.
  • 2nd Skill % generated by Regular Skill Fusion now ranges from 24%-42%.
  • Fixed bug where auto start would not trigger PVP Event Mode code.
  • Fixed bug where player's with Rebirths are subjected to User Shop & Trade Restrictions. Users with rebirths will no longer face any restrictions.

2nd Skill Activation: Scalar Changes

  • Water Element Scalar: 0.9 -> 1.0
  • PVE Scalar: 0.75 -> 0.8
  • Sword Scalar: 0.9 -> 0.95

2nd Skill Activation Percent (Balancing)

In this patch, for the first time ever, we are making attempts to balance out 2nd Skill Activation Percent (abbreviated as 2nd Skill %). The balancing will be dependent on 4 factors: Game Mode type, Card type, Element type, and flat rate bonuses from bonus cards (SS'E', Premium Event).

Changes to Fusion

  • All existing cards' 2nd Skill % will be increased by 1.5x.
    • For example, if you had a card at 40%, it will now be 60%.
  • The new maximum for 2nd Skill % is 80%.

Changes to Level 10/11

  • Representation of the Level 10 and 11 cards have changed.
    • Previously, a Level 10 card was a 'E' card with an '8' printed as it's level, and below 41% 2nd Skill %.
    • A level 11 card was the same as a Level 10, but with 41% 2nd Skill %.
  • From this patch forward, these representations will be changed to:
    • Level 10: 'E' Card with a '7' printed as it's level
    • Level 11: 'E' Card with a '8' printed as it's level
      • We are now ignoring the 41% 2nd Skill % to identify Level 11.
  • Level 11 Cards will always have a 5% chance to change to level 11 status for PVP/PVE games regardless of SS'E' ownership.

Scaling Math

The 2nd Skill % will be changed based on the 4 factors listed prior:

  • Game Mode type
  • Card type
  • Element type
  • Flat rate bonuses from bonus cards (SS'E', Premium Event).

The calculation for what your 2nd Skill % would be for a certain mode would be as follows:

  • ((Game Mode Rate * Card Type * Element Type) * Card's 2nd Skill %) + Flat Rate Bonus

For example, if you were playing Teamplay Mode with a Water Sword that is 40% (which prior to this patch was 26%) 2nd Skill % and a Water SS'E':

  • Teamplay Mode Multiplier: 0.66x (0.66x is our baseline since all card 2nd Skill %'s will have been increased by 1.5x)
  • Card Type (Sword) Multiplier: 0.9x
  • Element Type (Water) Multiplier: 0.9x
  • SS'E' Flat Rate Bonus: +2%
  • ((0.66 * 0.9 * 0.9) x 40%) + 2%) = 23.38% -> 23% (Rounded)

Scaling Values

We want to introduce this patch slowly so the transition is easy to understand and manageable. The scaling values presented during this patch are an introduction to the changes we may consider making in the future. We want to work with our community to identify which card combinations and modes require balancing. The scaling values for this patch will be as follows:

  • Game Mode Scalars
    • PVP Modes (Teamplay, Survival, Tournament, etc.): 0.667
    • PVE Modes (Mission, Quest): 0.75
  • Element Type Scalars
    • Water: 0.9
    • Earth, Wind: 1.0
    • Fire: 1.05
  • Card Type Scalars
    • Sword: 0.9
    • Axe: 1.1
    • Bow, Staff: 1.0
    • All Accessories: 1.0
    • Magic: 1.0

Updated Skill 2-2 Guarantee Rates

  • 23% or Less: +12% per fusion
  • 24% - 36%: +6% per fusion
  • 37% - 45%: +3% per fusion
  • 46% - 70%: +2% per fusion
  • 71% - 74%: +1% per fusion
  • 75% - 77%: +0.66% per fusion (66% chance to add 1%)
  • 78%+: +0.2% per fusion (20% chance to add 1%)

Guild War: QoL and Meta Shift

Accolades

  • Guilds who hold accolades will earn Guild Bank code.
    • 30,000,000 Guild Bank Code per Accolade Held per Day
    • 300 Guild Bank Cash per Accolade Held per Day
    • 200,000,000 Guild Bank Code per Accolade Held per Week
    • 2,000 Guild Bank Cash per Accolade Held per Week

Changes to Rewards

  • Guilds must have at least 5 players to earn Guild Rewards.

Boosters

  • All boosters following this patch will have a price reduction of 20%.

DMS

  • Daily completions of DMS from Guild Members will add Guild Bank Code:
    • 10,000,000 Guild Bank Code per Completion per Day
  • GP earned from DMS increased from 100,000 to 200,000 GP

Boss Raid

  • Completions of Boss Raid, per stage, will add 20,000 GP.
    • This can be repeated.

Reward Updates

We are adding rewards for Guilds for ranking between 6 and 10.

  • Rank 6, 7 and 8 Rewards
    • Trophies: 30
    • Pooled Rewards, GEN Coins: 100
    • Pooled Rewards, Loot Crates: 12
    • Pooled Rewards, Cash: 50,000
  • Rank 9, 10 Rewards
    • Trophies: 20
    • Pooled Rewards, GEN Coins: 50
    • Pooled Rewards, Cash: 30,000

PVP Event Mode & Non-Guild War Days

We are introducing custom PVP modes to the server.

  • These PVP event modes will be available on Sundays and Wednesdays.
  • During these days, Guild War and GP Earning will be disabled to allow players a break from the Guild War grind.
    • Guild Points will not be earnable via DMS, Boss Raid, Accolades or Gameplay. All additions for GP will be disabled for these days.

Event Modes

  • ARCC: All Random Character & Cards
    • This mode randomizes your character and cards.
    • All card skills will randomize.
    • Card set will match the character's element type.
    • Cards will have Gold Force and be Level 9.
    • 2nd Skill % will be calculated by using your equipped item's 2nd Skill %
      • For example, if you equip a Sword with 20%, Magic with 30% and Boots with 20%
      • ((20% + 30% + 20%) / 3) * 2nd Skill % Scaling Value of the mode (Tournament or Teamplay)
  • Retro PVP (Stage 1)
    • All cards will be downgraded to a range of Level 3 to 5.
      • Level 8 or less: Level 3
      • Level 9: Level 4
      • Level 10 & 11: Level 5
    • Your card's skills will remain the same.
    • 2nd Skill % Scaling Value: 0.3
  • Retro PVP (Stage 2)
    • All cards will be downgraded to a range of Level 5 to 7.
      • Level 8 or less: Level 5
      • Level 9: Level 6
      • Level 10 & 11: Level 7
    • Your card's skills will remain the same.
    • 2nd Skill % Scaling Value: 0.3
  • Turbo 10
    • All cards will be upgraded to Level 10.
    • Your card's skills will remain the same.
    • 2nd Skill % Scaling Value: 0.2
  • Turbo 11
    • All cards will be upgraded to Level 11.
    • Your card's skills will remain the same.
    • 2nd Skill % Scaling Value: 0.1
  • Debuff Free PVP
    • All cards will have their 2nd skill removed or set to 0%.
    • 1st skill will remain the same.
How to open a PVP Event Room

On Sundays and Wednesdays (GMT-4 server time), you will be able to open event rooms using this button.

Rewards for PVP Event Modes

These rewards can be earned multiple times per day.

  • Small Rewards
    • These rewards can be earned up to 4 times per 15 minutes.
    • Each 'PVP Event' mode match you play has a 100% chance to drop a small reward.
    • Rewards List
      • 20%: 1,000 Elements
      • 10%: 2,500 Elements
      • 20%: 15 Micro Credits
      • 10%: 25 Micro Credits
      • 20%: 1,000,000 Code
      • 10%: 2,500,000 Code
      • 10%: 100 Cash
  • Rates
    • DCS will always be applied when playing PVP Event Modes

Element Preference, A Way for Players to Choose Elements

In this patch, players will have an @account command to set their preferred element type.

When setting your preferred element type, the following effects will occur:

  • The element type you picked will drop at a 50% drop rate
  • The other 3 elements will drop at a 16.66% drop rate
  • The amount of elements will be reduced by -30% compared to this setting being disabled
    • Premium users will have a lower element amount reduction:
      • Premium Bronze-Platinum: -26%
      • Premium Diamond-Master: -24%
      • Premium Ultra: -20%
    • Elemental Bonus Card will also reduce the 'element amount reduction percentage' by 7%.
    • Example as Premium Diamond with Elemental Bonus Card: (-24% + 7%) = -17% reduction in element amount

Elemental Bonus Card

  • We have updated this card:
    • Elemental Bonus Card will reduce the 'element amount reduction percentage' by 7%.
    • Elemental Bonus Card will increase Element Drop rate by up to 50%.
  • This card can be obtained via the GEN Coin Shop (option 27).

Quality of Life and Miscellaneous Changes

User Shop & Trading

  • Trade Fee (Primary Accounts): 25% -> 10%
  • Trade Fee (Non Primary Accounts): 25% -> 30%
    • If either user is a non-primary account, the fee is 30%.
    • Both users must be primary for the rate to be 10%.
  • User Shop & Trading (Non Primary Accounts): Maximum listing price is 500,000,000 Code
  • User Shop (Non Primary Accounts): Fee increased by +4% for all types of transactions
  • Trade & User Shop Restrictions for Primary Accounts: Level requirement removed
  • Maximum 2nd Skill % that can be traded is now set to 54%.

Boss Raid

  • A set of SP Cards will be provided for new players specific for Boss Raid usage.
    • To use this, type the command @spcard bossraid

Micro Credits per Game Played

  • Each game played (PVP) will drop 1-5 Micro Credits per game.
  • Limited to once per 3 minutes.

Level Up Rewards

  • Rewards for 'primary account' status accounts when levelling up have been increased.
